Llyn Frongoch is a beautiful 20 acre lake surrounded by rolling green hills. It is easily accessible by car, having a narrow road and parking areas around its west bank. Frongoch was stocked with Loch Leven brown trout in the early 1900’s. That strain still thrives today, with butter gold wild brownies from 8oz to 1lb being abundant. In addition the lake is stocked several times a year with rainbow trout – these grow on well, becoming razor finned fighting machines that can strip your fly line off the reel in seconds. There are caravans for hire from the Association on the lakeside – the perfect place for a fishing holiday. Fishing on Frongoch is reserved for caravan occupiers on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
