A relative of the carp, bream are instantly recognisable with their distinctive deep bodied shape.

Bream are common in many lowland lakes and large reservoirs, also in many stillwater commercial fisheries all over Wales.

Notable bream venues include Port Talbot dock, Llandegefedd and Pontsticill reservoirs, where 100lb plus bags are a possibility.

Bream are bottom feeders and can be caught using feeder fishing methods.
