Taff Bargoed Angling Association has fishing on the River Taff-Bargoed and two lakes in Taff Bargoed Park. The club also has several miles of the main river Taff, from the junction with the river Cynon up to Pont-y-Gwaith bridge. The River Taff-Bargoed is a Taff tributary. This small river fishes for brown trout, fly only. Junior members may fish any method. Bottom Pond is around 8 1/2 acres. It is fed by the River Taff Bargoed. Fishing is for brown and rainbow trout, fly only. Junior members may fish any method. Top Pond is around 3 acres. It is fed by the River Taff Bargoed. Fishing is for brown and rainbow trout, fly only. Junior members may fish any method. The club have recruited 30 junior members in just 2 years and are continuing to promote and recruit more anglers. The fish was caught whilst on a ledger using worm at TBAA Lake. Fish weighed just over 2lb and was a great catch for a 5yr old.
