Merthyr Tydfil Angling Association has fishing on the River Taff Fechan, a tributary of the Taff that runs off the Brecon Beacons. This is a wild brown trout fishery offering technical small-stream fishing. There are good numbers of moderately sized wild brown trout present, with the odd fish going over 1lb. Fly fishing only, barbless hooks, catch and release. Tickets can be purchased on the club website, in the Bait Shack in Merthyr or online via the Fishing Passport.
