Festival Angling Club was formed shortly after the Garden Festival Wales came to an end in 1992. Local anglers saw potential in the lake that was built for the festival, and thus Festival Angling Club was formed and the lake and adjoining cafe was leased and lake stocked. Now as the club approaches 30 years, we provide a safe and stunning environment for our members to fish. The aim of the club is to provide and promote Angling to all, whether your choice is pleasure, match or carp fishing. As well as the Festival Lake, we also have two stretches of the Mon and Brec Canal as follows: Bridges 48 – 53 in Pontypool Basin area to Open Hearth Pub Bridges 119 – 122 Between Crickhowell and Llangynidr. Inclusion for all is of upmost important to us, and as such we have several wheelchair priority pegs, that are safe for our many disabled anglers.
