Cwmbran Angling Association has fishing on Llantarnam Ponds. These consist of 3 pools and fish for bream, roach, chub, carp, rudd, perch and tench. The association also has coarse fishing on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal and brown trout fishing on the Afon Lwyd, a tributary of the Usk, the River Monnow, a tributary of the Wye, and the Dowlais Brook. Enquiries can be made via the Facebook page or club secretary. Pontymister Angling & Hunting Supplies and Cwm Bran Angling shops sell tickets locally.
