Abergavenny Town Water – River Usk

Formerly Abergavenny Game Fishing Association, fishing on the Abergavenny Town stretch of the river Usk is now shared between three fishing clubs – Merthyr AA, Gwent AS and ISCA.

Day tickets are available online through the Fishing Passport, or day and season tickets can also bought at the ‘Baitbox’ St Michael’s Road, Abergavenny.

The river here is very diverse, it has deep pools, runs, and a mixture of pocket water and riffles. Good size wild brown trout are present. There are also salmon, especially later in the season.

Fishing is fly only, strictly catch and release.
