Lower Symonds Yat consists of 2.5 miles of drivable (in all weather), double bank fly and spinning water just a couple of miles upstream of the famous Wyesham Fishery.

This is truly one of the most beautiful stretches of the whole river, as it runs through a limestone gorge on it’s way from England into Wales.

It has excellent barbel, chub and pike fishing, also salmon. Here, the river is a mixture of gravel runs and deep channels. Towards the lower limit is Martin’s Pool – a deep section of river reputed to hold enormous carp and pike.

This stretch of river is a syndicate, for coarse and salmon anglers, although day tickets for salmon can be booked via the Fishing Passport.
