Aberdare and District Angling Club has fishing on the River Cynon, a tributary of the Taff. The river cynon has wild brown trout. In recent years it has become a very good grayling river, especially in the lower stretches. Annual or day tickets can be purchased at Hirwaun post office, 35 High Street, Hirwaun, Aberdare, CF449SW (Monday to Saturday 9-5:30pm). Or Debs Newsagents, Also in High Street, Hirwaun.
