Cwm Rheidol Reservoir is the largest of the Aberystwyth AA lakes and actually forms part of the river Rheidol, but is enclosed by the dam at the Aberfrwd end. The level of this lake (like the river) goes up and down depending on when the power station is generating as well as any natural increase in flow. There is a good head of wild brown trout and there is also the opportunity of catching a sewin or salmon (within licence and rule restrictions). Fly spin and worming is allowed here.
